Allergic Rhinitis And Asthma - International Recommendations For Patients And Health Professionals In 10 Languages

The update of the ARIA guidelines targeted to scientists and specialists is published in collaboration with GA²LEN in a November supplement of the journal Allergy. The paper concludes to a stronger influence of allergic rhinitis on asthma. GA²LEN running campaign, "Does rhinitis lead to asthma?" develops the same messages for healthcare professionals and patients, highlighting the importance of the link between rhinitis and asthma. Results Of Clinical Trials Of Nebulized Formoterol Fumarate: Long-term And Cardiovascular Safety COPD

Data from two Phase III clinical trials were presented in Chicago at CHEST 2007, the annual scientific assembly of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP), supporting the use of Perforomist™ (formoterol fumarate) Inhalation Solution as a safe and effective maintenance treatment for COPD patients. The results of both studies were included as part of the New Drug Application (NDA) filing to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Perforomist™ Inhalation Solution. FDA Accepts Wyeth’s Supplemental New Drug Application For Tygacil For The Treatment Of Patients With Community Acquired Pneumonia

Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, a division of Wyeth (NYSE: WYE), announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has accepted for filing the Company's supplemental New Drug Application (sNDA) for its first-in-class antibiotic Tygacil(R) (tigecycline) for the treatment of patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP).
