Cephalon Inc. announced that it has received U.S. marketing approval for armodafinil, or Nuvigil, an oral medication indicated to treat adults with excessive sleepiness associated with obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS), narcolepsy, and shift- work sleep disorder (SWSD). Armodafinil is the single-isomer formulation of modafinil, the active ingredient in Provigil, a sleep-disorder drug marketed by Cephalon since 1998. [click link for full article]
