AARC has contacted CMS to request clarification on their policies for the reimbursement of Brovana (arfomoterol) in the home care setting. Brovana, a new long-acting beta agonist (LABA), has recently been introduced, but has not yet been assigned a reimbursement code for home use. Therefore, availability of the medication to patients discharged from the hospital may be limited, interrupting the continuity of care and depriving patients of an efficacious medication.
